Why is it ok that the music industry is exploiting art and artists for profit everyday, but sampling needs to be cleared?
Why is it ok that a corporation can own 70% of all music ever, but sampling needs to be cleared?
Why is it ok for social media content creators to freely make content that mimetically strips music of artistic value and meaning, but sampling needs to be cleared?
Why is it ok for a platform to push AI artists in a system where there is a limited pool of distributable money for artists, but sampling needs to be cleared?
The industry clearly does not care about artists, so why should we care about the rules they force upon us?
The music industry is a completely broken and exploitative mess, far beyond repair. Why am I supposed to care about copyright laws when the real robbery is systemic? Fuck the labels. Free the music.
